A journey on the Conwy Valley line during May 2001, following a class 101 Metro Cammell DMU being driven by Driver Mark Jones of Llandudno Junction along the way to Blaenau Ffestioniog. The green DMU, known as 'Daisy' to railway enthusiasts, soldiered on until December 2003, being the last of the class to be withdrawn on the 24th. We take a break at Llanrwst to watch the tokens being exchanged between driver Geoff stone of Llandudno Junction, and Relief Signalman Malcolm Wrigley filmed during the Summer of 1989. Malcolm is also a keen videographer, and we look forward to seeing some of his extensive collection on YouTube.
The Conwy valley line will celebrate 150 years of service in 2029.
