Video Not Working? Fix It Now

(Recorded 8th November) Andrew Dickinson DNT’s new UK Sales Representative joined me in our front garden for a three-way ThermNight scope test. He, Ryan and Estella from DNT brought with them the first TNC335R and TNC635R scopes, to give me first chance to compare them. This is my educational video, with all three scopes tripod mounted, no airguns or shooting involved at all. Thanks very much to Bruce, my buddy and UK NV guru, for providing the field of view (FOV) for all three scopes. Going back through emails from Bruce & Billy (who've had these two scopes since we all last met in his man cave), as well as measuring all three FOVs, I asked NV guru Bruce how the 335R and 635R's thermal images compared, when zoomed to similar levels. Here's Bruce's gen: When I set the 335R at its first stage of digital zoom (x3.75) only the central 256x192 sensor pixels will be used to create the image. When I set the 635R at its third stage of digital zoom (x3.75) it will also be using only the central 256x192 sensor pixels to create the image. In this situation, the image seen on the display should be identical for both scopes... ...in fact the image on the 635R was slightly, but noticeably, sharper. Whether that minor improvement in image quality is worth the extra the 635R is going to cost over the 335R, is something only you can decide. For me the 635R covers a wider range of shooting situations with it's low base mag and wide FOV making it particularly suited to air rifle and rimfire use. I think the 335R is better suited to longer range work, where the higher magnification is a plus and the narrower field of view is less of a negative. Yet to be released (2025) is the TNC650R, with the 640x512 res' sensor and a higher base mag' 50mm lens, intended for longer range use.
