Dr. Ginevra's warm-up program specific for fibromyalgia, developed with the help of a sports medicine expert. I have fine-tuned it over the years and use it personally and share with all my patients. It has made all the difference for exercise being helpful and not harmful. This is the SHORTER version to do the sequence in realtime to warm up with me before you exercise. If this is your first time here instead go to the LONGER version https://youtu.be/2_YTVRuIqXM that has detailed explanations of each move and suggestions for potential modifications. Warming up tight muscles and fascia is the key to getting benefit from exercise if you have fibromylalgia. Warm, relaxed muscles are much less likely to get hurt than cold, tight ones. Many people think that stretching first will do the trick, but that is not a true warm-up; nor is walking slowly on a treadmill or doing a low setting on an exercise bike. A good warm-up is non-weight bearing and involves slowly moving key joints and muscles through a gentle range of motion. This both increases blood flow to the joints and gently stretches the tight fascia around the joints and muscles, boosting their lubrication and your ability to tolerate exercise without injury or pain. This gentle stretching of the fascia prepares your muscles to move.
