Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Could this be the best bit of watercolour advice? I don't know, but it is certainly something that I feel is really important to always come back to, and it is the one thing that keeps me going with watercolour painting, probably more than anything else; and that is remembering to always enjoy the medium itself. Remembering to enjoy the process an to enjoy creatively exploring our subject! Ok, so that might seem really obvious and very simple, but in the pursuit of watercolour techniques and creating the "perfect" painting in our own eyes, it can be over so easy to overlook this. Yet, for most of us, it is the very characteristics of the medium itself that drew us the watercolour in the first place! The way the brushstrokes feel, the wonderful way the watercolour pigment and water flows and merges together, the versatility of wet into wet washes right through to try brushstrokes, and of course the deep, rich translucent colours on a white page. Plus the wonderful ability of the watercolours to create beautiful light and of course the ability of watercolour to create so much with so little. Before we even think about what it is we are trying to represent, simply the look of watercolour on the page is exciting and beautiful in its own right. So in this video I talk about my own experiences with always trying to return to this watercolour mindset, the benefits of doing so and the ways it can help me with my own work. I ten take you through two of my own paintings where I really tried to make this mindset of simply enjoying the medium the main focus of the painting, rather than the subject itself. _______________________________ Find more of Natalya's work here on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/natalya_valverde_art/ ________________________________ Hyacinth Macaw longer format videos coming soon on my school of watercolour: https://schoolofwatercolour.co.uk/ Hummingbird Real-time tutorial released more recently on this channel. _____________________________ Previous Watercolour Bites Episodes: 1) Basic Terms - https://youtu.be/4icHxwdzQYQ 2) Colour vs Tone - https://youtu.be/qnVjTLxivQI 3) Tonal Values (Part 1) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OE6itosi2Hw 4) Tonal Values (Part 2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9A8s21LOpuA 5) Tonal Values (Part 3) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9h1qXH30Vs 6) Single Most Important thing in Watercolour - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1spfpfhqCuY 7) Simple Watercolour Process - https://youtu.be/AbvleXlDoBw 8) Top 10 Tips - https://youtu.be/PZb-3jYxp84 9) Watercolour Brushes - https://youtu.be/-i3EQJ2Sekc 10) Mixing Darks - https://youtu.be/dqfWN5uZwJE _________________________ Please subscribe for lots more to come and don't forget to check out all my other videos, as well as my Patreon teaching page for more in depth look at all aspects of painting! - Links to me - https://www.patreon.com/TomShepherdArt https://www.instagram.com/tomshepherdartist https://www.tomshepherdart.com/
