Do Your Act CRM Contacts Know You Exist in 2025?

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

In this tutorial, Tony Holowitz discusses how to stay visible to your contacts in Act CRM using a simple method with checkboxes and Act Marketing Automation. He highlights two checkboxes he added to his Act layout—"2025 Opened" and "AMA Open 2024"—which help track whether contacts have opened emails sent through Act’s built-in marketing tool. Tony shares his belief that staying top of mind with contacts is essential, and using email automation allows him to reach a large audience without the time-consuming process of calling or meeting individually. After sending out email campaigns, he uses Act to automatically group contacts who open those emails. He then does a lookup and uses the Edit - Replace Field function to check the box for those contacts, marking them as engaged. This simple visual cue shows Tony who is aware of him and who might need more attention. If a contact hasn’t opened any emails, Tony may choose to call or send a personal message. He also explains how Act’s campaign results provide insights into email engagement—such as how many emails were opened and which links were clicked—which helps tailor future outreach. By keeping track of email opens with checkboxes and groups, Tony is able to see which contacts are engaging with his messages and who may be falling off the radar. He stresses that Act Marketing Automation is an underrated tool that, when used effectively, tells a story about each contact’s level of engagement. He encourages viewers to explore this feature to get a better sense of how to maintain strong relationships with their database year after year. In the next video, Tony will dive into the two main types of emails he sends: simple messages and educational content.
