As a tour manager, I frequently interact with a variety of local and hometown bands, who are trying to make a name for themselves. A common attempt to achieve this is to humor. The idea of playing out of state shows. While there are certainly pros and benefits to doing this, there are also cons which; if overlooked, could lead to a disastrous results. In this video, I chat through a few of my opinions on the pros and cons of playing out of state shows as a band, what to look for to identify readiness of playing out of state shows, and a few tips for how to make your first out of state show a success.
