The 2022-2023 MLB Off-season has seen the rise of big spending from big markets, and has seen the continued shedding of payroll from smaller markets. Many systems are in place to keep teams with smaller payrolls competitive with their wealthier counterparts, but this off-season has shown us that disparities will always exist, but does spending actually matter? In this video, we will determine to what extent spending correlates to team success using a formula I came up with while driving home after Christmas.
