US President Donald Trump on Wednesday warned his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, of "devastating" sanctions if Moscow refused a deal on a ceasefire in the Ukraine war.
Speaking after a meeting with Ireland Prime Minister Micheal Martin at the White House, Trump said that US negotiators are headed to Russia "right now" for talks on a possible ceasefire with Ukraine, a day after Kyiv agreed to a 30-day truce. He, however, did not give details.
Russia has presented the U.S. with a list of demands for a deal to end its war against Ukraine and reset relations with Washington, according to two people familiar with the matter.
