Let's start this vlog by understanding how to plan your Macau vacation!
Macau is a small country located near the China and Hong Kong border. It is mostly famous for its casinos and is often referred to as the Las Vegas of Asia due to its vibrant casino life.
In this video, we will cover everything you need to know before visiting Macau, including:
Macau Visa Process for Indians
SIM Card & eSIM Options
Transportation Options
Indian Restaurants & Cost of Living
Things to Do in Macau
Is Macau Worth Visiting for Families & Solo Travelers?
Let’s dive in!
Visa for Indian Passport Holders
The good news is that Indian passport holders don’t need a visa or eVisa to visit Macau. You can simply book your flight and land in Macau to kick-start your vacation.
However, to ensure a smooth immigration process, make sure you have:
✅ A valid passport with at least 6 months of validity
✅ Confirmed hotel booking
✅ Confirmed return or onward flight tickets
✅ Proof of funds (if asked) to cover your expenses
Hotel Accommodation
Macau has a variety of accommodation options depending on your budget. Here’s what we paid:
🏨 Luxury 5-Star Casino Hotel:
We stayed at The Venetian Macau for 2 nights and paid ₹20,000 INR per night.
🏨 Budget Hotel:
We stayed at Hotel Macau S for 2 nights and paid ₹10,000 INR per night.
SIM Card or eSIM Options
📱 Best SIM/eSIM Option: I highly recommend buying an eSIM from Trip.com.
📱 If your phone doesn't support eSIM, you can buy a physical SIM card online and collect it from the airport.
💰 Cost: Starts from ₹86 INR per day for 1GB of data.

Is Macau Worth Visiting?
As I said earlier, Macau can be an optional destination if you're already visiting Hong Kong.
❌ There’s not much to do for families unless you enjoy casino life.
❌ Food and accommodation are super expensive compared to other Asian countries.
✅ If you’re a solo traveler or love luxury stays & casinos, 1 or 2 days in Macau can be a great experience.
✅ Some travelers prefer a day trip from Hong Kong to explore Macau and return by evening.
If you’re planning a trip, decide based on your travel interests & budget!
