Dorados are extremely fun, fast-moving, hard-fighting, and good jumping gamefish. Plus they are super beginner-friendly if you are taking a vacation where some saltwater fly fishing is on the agenda. Far less technical than Permit, Tarpon, and various shallow water species - done right Dorado can be fairly easily caught. If you do it wrong they can get really wise in a hurry. Those first few shots are super important.
In this video my wife catches her first couple of Dorado after historically taking a polite pass on saltwater fishing. It's fun to watch her hook up and figure things out!
We book our trips through Fly Fish Mex and they can be reached at [email protected] - be sure to go check out their YouTube Channel as well. Incredible. https://flyfishmex.com/
