Splicing Tips / Common Questions...
Where do I get splicing tools? - https://rightrope.com/use/tools/
Where do I get double braid rope? - https://rightrope.com/construction/double-braid/
The splicing technique in this video is for class 1 double braid rope. If you have a class 2 (core dependent) rope then you will need a different technique. If you have a 32 or 48 carrier rope, pull out 4 sets of strands when tapering the cover. If you have a 16 carrier rope, only pull out two sets of strands.
Don’t have a fid?
You can find measurement tables online for fid lengths. To pass the rope back through itself, you can use a small wire (like piano wire) but make sure to insert in the exit point, and out the entry point to pull through!
