On the 12th and 13th of October 2024, Steamrail Victoria ran a pair of trains to the eastern town of Bairnsdale. In the afternoon of the 12th, R761 ran to Bairnsdale with a short consist of crew vans and rollingstock. The following day, R711 would bring passengers to Bairnsdale where the locomotives swapped.
