The Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, addressed the press at the Uganda Media Centre regarding the ongoing trial of Dr. Col. KizzaBesigye and the alleged abduction of members of the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP).
Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister of ICT and National Guidance, urged the public to allow the court to determine the outcome of Besigye’s case and advised that accurate information regarding Besigye’s health should be obtained from trained medical professionals.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of not misinterpreting the distinction between arrest and abduction, especially after a video circulating online showed a member of NUP threatening harm to opposition members aligned with NRM, which led to further public confusion.
