「THE FIRST TAKE」は、一発撮りのパフォーマンスを鮮明に切り取るYouTubeチャンネル。
第494回は、1997年のデビュー以来日本の音楽シーンを牽引するロックバンド、Dragon Ashが登場。
今回披露するのは、約１年半ぶりの新曲であり、映画『⼗⼀⼈の賊軍』キャンペーンソングにも決定している、The BONEZとDragon Ashによるマッチアッププロジェクトからリリースされた「Straight Up feat. JESSE」。
Kjが作曲を担当し、KjとJESSEが詞を書き下ろした本楽曲タイトルの「Straight Up」には、“互いに腹を割る”という意味があり、それぞれのバンドのこれまでの歩みと、失くした友への思いやこれからの時代を切り開いていくという意志が込められている。
主戦場であるライブハウスから飛び出して、両バンドメンバー全員が集結しライブの熱量そのままに一発撮りにてパフォーマンス。

Episode 494 features Dragon Ash, the premier rock band that has been leading the Japanese music scene since their 1997 debut, on THE FIRST TAKE.
They will perform “Straight Up feat. JESSE,” a track from the project by The BONEZ and Dragon Ash. Dragon Ash’s first release in one and a half years, the song is featured as the campaign song to the film 11 REBELS.
With music by Kj and lyrics cowritten by Kj and JESSE, The title ”Straight Up” reflects on the journey both bands have taken, their sentiments for friends they have lost and their continued resolve to forge new paths into the future.
