Dragon fruit or Pitaya is a fruit that includes many species of cacti, the most important of which are of the genus Waxy woody.
The original homeland of the pattaya is Mexico, Central America, and South America. Currently, it is also grown in East Asia and Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia (especially in East Java), Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, New Zealand, and recently Bangladesh.
It was the Europeans who brought this fruit from the New World to other parts of the world. For example, it was the Dutch who brought the dragon fruit to Taiwan.
