PlayStation 2ソフトでトップの売上を誇った日本の代表的なRPG・ドラゴンクエストVIII 空と海と大地と呪われし姫君 より、特に印象的な楽曲(サウンドトラック)をピアノのメドレー、(ドラクエ8 ピアノメドレー)に仕上げました。 ドラゴンクエストシリーズは初期からすぎやまこういち氏が作曲していらっしゃいますが、自分は、特に8の内容が印象的で好きです。特に、「広い世界へ」「おおぞらをとぶ」などをおすすめします。 また、このメドレーは一部を除き、ほとんどが今村 康氏によるピアノソロアレンジです。楽譜は、ピアノ曲集 ドラゴンクエストVIII 空と海と大地と呪われし姫君 オフィシャルスコアブック すぎやまこういち 監修 の楽譜を読ませていただきました。特に戦闘曲らなどは、ピアノで弾くのは正直弾きにくいものもありました。しかしながら、今村氏の楽譜アレンジについては、すぎやまこういち氏が直々に評価していらっしゃる通り、原曲に忠実な出来となっていると感じました。
2015 8/27に3DS版のドラゴンクエスト8が発売されます。リメイク発売の記念もかねて、動画を制作しました。楽しんで聞いていただけると幸いです。

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, known in Japan as Dragon Quest VIII Sora to Umi to Daichi to Norowareshi Himegimi (ドラゴンクエストVIII 空と海と大地と呪われし姫君 lit. "Dragon Quest VIII: The Sky, the Ocean, the Earth, and the Cursed Princess") and in PAL regions as Dragon Quest: The Journey of the Cursed King, is a role-playing video game developed by Level-5, localized and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 2. It was first released in Japan in 2004, and was later released in North America in 2005 and PAL regions in 2006, making it the first main series installment released in the PAL region. It is the eighth installment of the popular Dragon Quest series and it is the first English version of a Dragon Quest game to drop the Dragon Warrior title. A version of the game for Android and iOS was released in Japan on December 12, 2013, and worldwide on May 28, 2014.
