Winter arrived at Fensmere with 3 inches of snow on the ground, and the day started with a possible otter sighting! I went to investigate and found tracks in the snow—but no sign of the culprit.
After that, it was straight to work setting up three 4” siphons to start draining the top lake in preparation for netting and grading next week. This lake doesn’t have a monk system or upstand, so to protect the smaller C2 Leneys from potential damage in the main outlet pipe, siphons were the best option.
Siphons can be tricky to set up, and despite a lot of effort, all three failed this time. Some days you’re the hammer, and some days you’re the nail 🤦♂️.
Join me as I go through the process, troubleshoot the setup, and see what happens along the way!
