In this episode of Altitude Diaries, We drive from Charlotte to Mid-Carolina Regional Airport, where Nishanth keeps his Piper Warrior II safely tucked away in a hangar. The excitement builds as I enter the airport—an experience in itself—driving right up to the hangar for the first time.
With anticipation, I slide open the hangar door, revealing the Piper Warrior II in all its glory. It’s my first time seeing and touching a small aircraft up close, and the thrill is indescribable! From carefully moving the plane out of the hangar to performing a detailed pre-flight check, I get hands-on with the process of preparing for takeoff. Along the way, we discuss fascinating facts about aircraft, airport operations, ownership, and flight mechanisms—unraveling the world of private aviation.
We then taxi the aircraft to the fuel station, experiencing yet another unique aspect of flying—fueling up before taking to the skies. The episode wraps up with the anticipation of my first flight in the next episode, where I take the controls and truly experience the magic of flight!
