Dregs of the City: Reno is a short documentary that dives into Reno, Nevada. This city, as well as the whole state of Nevada, has been experiencing a record-breaking increase in homelessness over the course of the last few years. From the homeless and ex-homeless people themselves, this documentary explores the reasons why. Unlike many of our other Dregs of the City documentaries like Phoenix, and Los Angeles, Dregs of the City: Reno takes a different SIX SEVEN documentary approach by focusing on the characters, allowing their personalities to shine.
Throughout the documentary, you'll meet a handful of different characters, success stories and the opposite, that come together as one great character that is the Greater Reno-Sparks-Tahoe area. Reno has been in a massive decline for some time now, because of a drastic drop in tourism numbers, but it wasn't until recently that their homeless crisis became this severe.
Reno is known to be a fun town where many people in Northern California and all around the United States go for vacation to enjoy the downtown establishments as well as the very near Lake Tahoe.
