One of the biggest questions when buying a large fifth wheel is “what type of truck do I need?” Basically, the decision comes down to the number of rear wheels you want: dually or single. Once you decided on the number of wheels, then you must then decide on your brand of truck: Ford, Chevy, or Dodge.
The truck brand part is easy for us but the wheel decision was much more involved. We haven’t made the final decision on which fifth wheel RV we are buying just yet, but we do know it will be 40 feet or larger. After doing considerable research about GVW, towing capacity, and more, we made a decision we feel is best for us.
