The Ducati Scrambler family has a remarkable history. The original was brought into life in the 1960s and eventually included 125, 250, 350 and 450 models. It was pivotal in keeping the company afloat and became a cult classic in many countries.

It then disappeared for decades only to return during a retro wave in 2015, and it came back with a vengeance. The current range encompasses 400s, 800s and 1100s, and various models from Classic to Desert Sled. My favourite is the Cafe Racer thanks to its incredible styling and sporty touches. The Scrambler is again very successful having overtaken the Monster as Ducati’s bestseller.

Its combination of street basics and off-road touches has earned it a style-over-substance tag, but it wears that tag with pride. The simple, yet effective technology makes it just a very fun motorcycle for a broad variety of riders.

What do you think about the Scrambler? I look forward to your comments.
