Today I take you along as I turn some unbleached cotton muslin fabric into a variety of dyed fabrics for a quilt! Please leave a comment if you have ever made a quilt with dyed fabric or if you ever would! My plan was to dye the largest piece dark charcoal, the next largest was blue and I had 6 small pieces to dye fun brighter colours. If you try this for yourself you just want to make sure there is enough contrast for the quilt to make sense! I'm using fiber reactive dyes from Dharma Trading Company: https://www.dharmatrading.com/dyes/dharma-fiber-reactive-procion-dyes.html Washing Soda: https://amzn.to/2J1QaZ3 or Soda Ash: https://amzn.to/2J3gjGY Washing Soda or soda ash is required to set the dye! You can also use salt to make your dyes more vibrant. Also make sure to batch or leave your fabric for AT LEAST 24 hours to help create brighter colours. SUBSCRIBE TO SEE MORE !
