pot 1 - 3 L water + 1/2 tsp tumeric powder
pot 2 - 4 L water + ~2.5 tsp
No mordants, but using dedicated dye pots
Stir up the water and heat for 30 minutes with the powder in the pot to dissolve the tumeric as much as possible.
[4:26] Preparing the yarn
No resist, add it dry
[5:02] Preparing the fiber
Wind into a tight ball. Don't presoak.
[6:45] Technique thoughts
[7:52] Adding the yarn to the dyepot
[9:38] Adding the roving to the dyepot
Add another 2 L of water (6 L total)
[12:01] 30 minutes later
Turn off the heat and let everything cool overnight
[14:14] Checking on the instructions again
[14:48] The next morning
add the yarn to the roving and reheat a while. Turn off the heat and let it cool
[16:32] Remove the cooled fiber
[16:55] Washing the yarn
