In this episode, I continue working on my high-mileage BMW E46 M3, which holds the title of the cheapest one in the UK. After failing its MOT due to an offside wishbone issue and a persistent oil leak, I take on some of the most challenging repairs yet in this restoration project. As someone who isn't a professional mechanic, I'm learning as I go, and this episode sees me tackling multiple critical fixes to try and get this iconic E46 M3 roadworthy again.

The work begins with a full valve adjustment, ensuring the legendary S54 engine runs smoothly and reliably. Following that, I replace the rocker cover gasket to address potential leaks around the top end of the engine. From there, I move on to replacing the bottom-end bearings-a must-do job for a car with 160,000 miles-to safeguard against future engine damage. Afterward, I tackle the sump gasket to address further oil leaks and then focus on replacing both front wishbones to resolve the MOT-critical suspension issues.

Each task pushes my limits as I take apart key components of the S54 engine and suspension. While the process isn't without its challenges, I'm determined to give this E46 M3 a new lease on life. This high-mileage project car has come a long way since I first bought it in rough condition, and this episode is another big step toward getting it back on the road.
