In this video, I'll walk you through the entire process step-by-step, from cutting the fabric to stitching the final seam. You'll learn how to:
Choose the right fabric for your kimono jacket
In this video I am using a “matelasse” fabric which is sometimes called a cotton or silk jacquard or a floral quilted fabric.
If you search for a matelasse you will find what I am using.
At the start of the video I show a jacket made from cotton calico. This is very easy to find, inexpensive and makes a brilliant little kimono jacket.
We do a double turn on the sides.
We lift the hem as well.
