This video shows how to add a 12-volt trigger to the SONOS Connect (ZP90) so that your power amplifier can turn on and off automatically. The Bobwire DAT1 monitors the digital audio output from the Connect. As soon as music starts playing the DAT1 will generate a 12v signal telling the amplifier to turn on. The 12v trigger and amp will stay on for about 45 seconds after the music stops. The 45 second delay is intentional so that the amp does power down between tracks or short pauses in the music. The DAT1 works with any audio video source with an optical digital audio output including Amazon Echo Link, Google Chromecast Audio, Apple Airport Express, TVs, CD/blu-ray players, Computers.
500ma 12V outputs can drive cooling fans, multiple relays, AV selectors, projector screens etc.
