In this video I describe all of the technique and rigging we used to catch a limit of halibut in less than 200 feet of water on the Washington Coast during one of the recent halibut openers.
It couldn't be more simple and straightforward!
We talk about the rigging from the corkscrew swivel, to the spreader bar, the dropper loop to the lead, and on to the leader setup, the hooks and of course how to rig up a herring so it won't easily come off.
I talk a bit about strategy with 3 anglers, boat control, dropping copper pipe jigs, lancer jigs with salmon belly and assist hook trailers to not miss those short biters.
Lastly, I cover a bit about the charts, showing you our tracks of where we caught the halibut to give you an idea of what to look for on your next halibut trip.
Hope this helps you get more halibut next trip out!
