About Mango Tree : The tropical tree Mangifera indica produces the edible stone fruit known as a mango. It is thought to have its roots in the region bounded by Bangladesh, northeastern India, and northwest Myanmar. The "Indian type" and the "Southeast Asian type" of modern mango cultivars are the consequence of ancient M. indica cultivation in South and Southeast Asia. The majority of the edible fruits known as "mangoes," which are produced by other species in the genus Mangifera, are located in the Malesian ecoregion. Mangoes come in several hundred varieties all throughout the world. Mango fruit can vary in size, shape, taste, skin color, and flesh color, which can be pale yellow, gold, green, or orange, depending on the cultivar. Mango trees have a crown radius of 10-15 m and can reach heights of 30–40 m (98–131 ft) (33–49 ft). As evidence, several examples of the trees are still bearing fruit after 300 years. With numerous, widely-spreading feeder roots and anchor roots that delve deeply into the earth, the taproot can descend to a depth of 6 m (20 ft) in deep soil. When the leaves are young, they are orange-pink, but they quickly change to a dark, glossy red, then to a dark green as they mature. The leaves are evergreen, alternate, simple, 15-35 centimeters (6-14 inches) long, and 6-16 centimeters (2+12-6+12 in) broad. Each flower is tiny and white, with five petals that are between 5 and 10 millimeters (3.16 and 3.78 inches) long. The blooms are produced in terminal panicles that are 10 to 40 centimeters (4 to 15 and 12 inches) tall. The size, shape, color, sweetness, and eating qualities of the ripe fruit vary according to the cultivar. Fruits can be yellow, orange, red, or green depending on the variety. The fruit contains a single flat, rectangular pit that is difficult to separate from the pulp and may be fibrous or hairy on the surface. [1] The fruits range in size from 5 to 25 centimeters (2 to 10 inches) in length and weigh between 140 grams (5 oz) and 2 kilograms (5 lb) per fruit. They can be slightly round, oval, or kidney-shaped. When fully mature, the skin has a hue varying from green to yellow, yellow-orange, yellow-red, or flushed with various shades of crimson, purple, pink, or yellow. It is leather-like, waxy, smooth, and aromatic.
