Modern Eggs is a fascinating combo deck that revolves around using cheap artifact "eggs" like Chromatic Star, Chromatic Sphere, and Conjurer’s Bauble to draw cards and generate mana. The deck’s core synergy lies in sacrificing these artifacts to fuel spells and abilities, then recurring them with Faith’s Reward to start the process all over again. Each loop builds card advantage, mana, and resources, eventually setting up a game-winning sequence.
New innovations include the recently unbanned Mox Opal, which accelerates mana production, and Whir of Invention, a powerful tutor to consistently find key pieces like Lotus Bloom. Beseech the Mirror adds redundancy by acting as additional copies of Faith’s Reward or Lotus Bloom, ensuring smooth combo turns. Additionally, Cephalid Coliseum, reprinted in Modern Horizons 3, serves as both a draw engine and a recursion target for Faith’s Reward, adding flexibility and value.
Win conditions range from looping Pyrite Spellbomb for infinite damage, overwhelming the board with Urza’s Saga Construct tokens, or leveraging Bolas’s Citadel's forgotten ability to make each opponent lose 10 life. Modern Eggs has evolved into a streamlined and explosive combo deck, proving its ability to adapt and thrive in today’s metagame.
