Senator Chris Van Hollen flew to El Salvador in an attempt to 'rescue' Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, who was deported by the Trump administration.
Garcia entered the US illegally in 2011. A judge blocked his return to El Salvador in 2019, noting the fact that gangsters were after him, but said he could be deported elsewhere.
