Several key U.S. agencies told federal workers over the weekend not to comply with Elon Musk's email in which he demanded employees explain what they accomplished last week — or risk losing their job. In a social media post Saturday, Musk, tabbed by President Donald Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), said "Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump’s instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week. Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation." Since then, the FBI, State Department and the Pentagon have weighed in, telling workers to pause any response.
