In the past, the region of La Vera in Cáceres supplied itself with the basic raw materials for making its people's clothing, which led to the development of textile crafts and thread work. In Villanueva de La Vera (Cáceres), María Bachiller continued in 2004 with the artisan tradition that she learned from her mother, which consisted of making embroidery and fraying.
