Emma Raducanu isn't in a hurry to hire a new coach, with former British tennis star Laura Robson offering her perspective on the situation. The 22-year-old has now gone a month without an official coaching team after parting ways with Nick Cavaday in late January. Cavaday had worked with Raducanu for about a year before stepping away due to health concerns. Known for frequently changing coaches early in her career, Raducanu has had a mixed start to 2025 despite a strong showing at the Australian Open. However, Robson believes there’s no urgency in appointing a new coach, especially given Raducanu’s current level of play. Writing for Sky Sports, Robson noted: “She’s competing well and making sure she’s doing the right things on court. I don’t think she needs to rush into hiring someone just for the sake of it. The decision has to be right for her.She also pointed out the scarcity of top-tier coaches available for full-time travel, making the selection process even more challenging. “You wouldn’t want to enter a partnership without complete confidence, she added. Raducanu’s impressive run at the Australian Open, where she reached the third round, has renewed optimism for her 2025 season. She secured straight-sets victories over Ekaterina Alexandrova and Amanda Anisimova before being eliminated by eventual semi-finalist Iga Swiatek.
