A truly unique performance from Emmanuel Jal - a South Sudanese artist and activist who has overcome many obstacles – from his start in life as a child soldier and refugee – to achieve international recognition as a recording artist, producer, performer and DJ.
Emmanuel has recorded seven studio albums and has featured on many huge dance records including Kuar (Henrik Schwarz), Hey Mama (Da Capo), Gorah (Nitefreak), and Yuma (Miishu).
His music has helped define what we now globally regard as 'Afrohouse' and continues to push forward the genre from East Africa with distinct sounds from his motherland of South Sudan and neighbouring country, Kenya.
