Ink can be used in conjunction with encaustic to create a variety of effects. In this video, we demonstrate four different ways - underpainting directly onto a panel; painting onto or between layers of encaustic; and using ink either full strength or diluted to create a pale wash or patina on the surface of a painting.
Materials used in this demo include: Ampersand Encausticbord, R&F encaustic medium, R&F encaustic paint, and Speedball India Ink.
