Engine Disassembly the Right Way - Part 6: Electrolysis Rust Removal Here is part 6 of taking an engine apart the right way, more cleaning... this is electrolysis rust removal, Doc Brown would be proud! Part 5 was chasing threads to get all the grease and gunk out of them. Now remember, I am making this video series for the beginner and DIY home engine builder, no fancy tools here! That being said, in this video you will see how easy it is to remove rust from your engine, especially the water jackets. It is quite simple really, just some steel, laundry booster, a large tub, some water, and an old battery charger. There isn't much to it really, you just need to follow some easy steps shown in the video and be careful when using chemicals and electricity. Science sure can be fun! This is one of the best ways to remove rust in my opinion. Just in case you are wondering, the engine I am using for this is a 1972 Pontiac 400. I plan a future build with this engine down the road, so stay tuned! #cleaning #electrolysis #diy
