The film tells the story of Detective Feng Lang, who is sometimes witty and humorous, and sometimes cool and handsome. In investigating the mysterious death of a host, he uncovers a sensational conspiracy at a drug factory several years ago. Feng Lang, along with policewoman Fan Yun and team leader Ma Tielin, lead the criminal investigation team to uncover the truth and engage in a battle of wits and bravery against evil forces.
