The 2% zone means isolated tornadoes are still possible, especially in supercells forming near the dryline or boundary zones. ⸻ 📝 Overview Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected late this afternoon and evening across the southern High Plains, with storms forming along a dryline and outflow boundary in the Texas Panhandle and Caprock region. Very large hail is likely, with a few tornadoes possible during the evening. ⸻ ⛈️ Hazards Include 🧊 Large to very large hail (2–3” possible in the strongest supercells) 🌪️ A couple of tornadoes, especially east of the Caprock between 6–9 PM CDT 💨 Damaging wind gusts possible, especially with any cluster development later tonight ⸻ 🕓 Timeline 🕓 Late Afternoon (4–6 PM CDT): Discrete supercells initiate along the dryline near the TX/NM border 🌆 Evening (6–9 PM CDT): Peak tornado and giant hail threat in the eastern TX Panhandle and western OK 🌒 Overnight (9 PM – 1 AM CDT): Storms may merge into clusters and track east with a lingering wind/hail risk ⸻ 📌 Regional Notes 🟠 Texas Panhandle (Amarillo, Plainview, Pampa): Highest risk zone for large hail and tornadoes 🟡 Eastern NM & West TX: Isolated supercells possible, but less shear could limit longevity 🟢 Central/Northeast TX: Remnant storm clusters may drift east with isolated strong wind gusts ⸻ ⚠️ Stay Weather-Aware If you’re in or near Amarillo, Lubbock, or Clovis, this evening brings a window for severe supercells with tornadoes and huge hail. Make sure you have multiple ways to receive alerts, and be ready to take shelter quickly if warnings are issued. ——————————— FOLLOW ON OTHER PLATFORMS, TIP & CONTACT ME HERE: https://linktr.ee/reedtimmer Team Dom Storm Recovery Info https://linktr.ee/tdstormrecovery? ——————————— Rocket Man - @Willclay25 Chaser Follow - @EdgarTheStormChaser Navigator - @localmanweatherofficial Guy in the corner - @brianvotoole Thanks to @LiveCamChaser for helping us with the webcams!!
