This is the fourth video of my 1978 Ford Bronco hard body RC build. I originally purchased this Team Raffee hard body in hopes of using it with my Redcat Gen8 chassis. However, I quickly decided to custom build an entire chassis from scratch!
* I ordered Axial SCX10 (clone) chassis rails as well as several components from various other manufacturers and combined them with parts that I already had lying around my house. I also hand fabricated several parts whenever I couldn't buy something that would fit my needs.
* I then painted the hardbody (which was originally white) with several coats of various colors. I started off by painting the entire body in flat black, then I went over the entire outside (except for the camper shell section) with rust colored paint, then I painted over the rust with each color of the two-tone paint scheme.
* I then sanded through some sections of the paint to show some of the rust color. I also added a little bit more rust spots and weathering in some areas for a bit more depth.
* In addition, I lightly scuffed the paint and all the chrome, and then I added some rust to the bumpers as well, for a bit more realism.
Over the next few years of rock crawling with this truck, I expect that many more scratches will be revealing that awesome rust color beneath the surface layers!
