It’s been submitted:
Embassy of India in UAE had been in regular contact with the petitioner’s daughter (now deceased) and provided consular assistance to her and the family, since their request for assistance was first received by the Indian Embassy in February 2023.
Ms. Shazadi was charged with intentional murder of an infant in
UAE.
2. Embassy consular officials visited Ms. Shehzadi while she was in detention in UAE jail on 29.04.2024, 05.06.2024 and lastly on 04.10.2024, as per consular
access granted by UAE authorities.
3. Indian Embassy had been in regular contact with UAE authorities for the
case. Embassy forwarded the Mercy Petition of Ms. Shehzadi to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of UAE on 02.09.2024.
4. Embassy also assisted her with legal representation with hiring of a law firm
who provided pro-bono assistance to fight her case before UAE judicial authorities.
5. Embassy of India again took up her case with UAE government by requesting for inclusion of her name in the Pardon list on the occasion of UAE
National Day on 06.11.2024.
6. Embassy of India in UAE received an official communication on 28 February 2025 from UAE government that the death sentence awarded to Ms.
Shehzadi was executed on 15/02/2025 in accordance with laws and regulations of
UAE.
7. The same day on 28 February 2025, The Embassy informed Mr. Shabbir Khan, the father of Ms. Shahjadi about the confirmation of execution of death of
Ms. Shahjadi. He was also informed that the family can come to UAE by 05.03.2025 for taking part in the last rites of Ms. Shahjadi. Further, a dedicated
mobile number of the Embassy was also provided to the father for contacting the Indian Embassy.
8. In light of all possible assistance being provided by the Government of India
to the Petitioner’s family, the court was requested to dispose off the petition
