เชื่อมประโยคย่อย กับ ประโยคย่อย
เช่น I like cats and dogs. : Conjunction คือ and : เชื่อม คำ กับ คำ คือ cats , dogs.
Conjunction แบ่ง 3 ประเภท คือ
1. Coordinating Conjunctions : เชื่อมแบบประสาน : เชื่อมสิ่งที่อยู่ระดับเดียวกัน
ได้แก่ คำว่า and, or, but, for, nor, yet, and yet, so, while
2. Correlative Conjunctions : เชื่อมแบบสัมพันธ์ : เชื่อมสิ่งที่อยู่ระดับเดียวกัน
ได้แก่ either..or.., neither..nor.., both...and..., not only..but also..
3. Subordinating Conjunctions : เชื่อมแบบย่อย : เชื่อมประโยคย่อยหลัก กับประโยคย่อยรอง
ได้แก่ because, unless, though, although, whereas, even though, after, before since, until, when, while
