Video Not Working? Fix It Now

"Connie" is the pride of the HARS fleet and the only Lockheed Super Constellation still flying in the entire world.

Watch this video as -- inside and out -- the aircraft's magnificent crew, led by President and Chief Pilot Bob de la Hunty, fires up all four of its mighty Curtiss-Wright R3350 twin row 18-cylinder radial engines at the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society's Aviation Museum at Albion Park, NSW, 100 kms south of Sydney, Australia, in preparation for next week's hopeful flight to celebrate the regional airport new terminal.

Our Lockheed C-121C Super Constellation, VH-EAG, has a fascinating history starting in 1955 with the US Air Force's Military Air Transport Service (MATS) and into deep storage for 14 years at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base (Bone Yard) in Arizona before acquired by HARS in 1991. Restored over five years by HARS volunteers back & forth from Australia, repainted in (mostly) Qantas livery of the day, our Connie arrived over Sydney, Australia, in early February 1996 and became the enduring symbol of our unique aviation museum of over 50 historic commercial & military aircraft, many of which still fly thanks to its many volunteers.
