A Week of Heartbreak, Hope & New Arrivals on the Farm | Winter Rescue Life
This week has been an emotional one on our rescue farm. We opened our hearts to a tiny orphaned lamb just 2 days old—but heartbreakingly, despite all our care and love, she didn’t make it. 💔 These are the tough realities of winter births, especially for vulnerable animals like lambs, and we talk about why so many don’t survive in the cold.
But with loss comes new beginnings. We welcomed a 4-week-old goat into our little herd—a sweet soul in need of a home. And another special arrival: Yujin, a wild farm cat who’s now found a safe place to land and hopefully learn to trust again. 🐐🐈⬛
The weather has turned cold and foggy—typical winter days here. We took a rare break to go out for lunch with Deb’s dad, braving the mist and soaking in the peaceful beauty of the Murray River wrapped in fog.
