भारत को सबसे बड़ा खतरा पड़ोसी देशों से है। चीन से हम एक युद्ध लड़ चुके हैं और आठ दशक से सीमा विवाद सुलझ नही रहा है। विकट भविष्य में इसके सुलझने की भी कोई उम्मीद नही है । उसकी सबसे बड़ी वजह यह है कि चीन इस विवाद को सुलझाना ही नहीं चाहता । दूसरी ओर पाकिस्तान के साथ हम चार युद्ध लड़ चुके हैं। पर ऑपरेशन सिंदूर ने पूरी दुनिया ने दिखा दिया कि भारत पाकिस्तान ही नहीं, चीन से भी मुक़ाबले के लिए तैयार है। हथियारों के मामले में भारत की आत्म निर्भरता दुनिया के लिए बड़ी ख़बर है । हथियारों के मामले में भारत की दूसरे देशों पर निर्भरता उसे नवकेवल कमज़ोर बनाती थी बल्कि भारत को एक सॉफ्ट स्टेट के रूप में दिखाती है। यह सब बहुत तेज़ी से बदल रहा है। बदलाव की यह रफ़्तार पिछले ग्यारह साल से बढ़ी है । अब यह एक नई रफ़्तार से बढ़ने को तैयार है।
