Waujeongsa Temple
Located at a place where 48 peaks of Yeonhwasan Mountain in Haegok-dong, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do are surrounded like folding screens, Waujeongsa Temple is a temple for national reconciliation built in 1970 by the displaced people, Haewol Samjangbeop (also known as Kim Hae-geun), and is the headquarters of the Nirvana sect of Korean Buddhism, which houses more than 3,000 Buddha statues. Among the various Buddha statues, the Buddha statue built at the entrance of the temple and the Wabul on the hillside are famous. The 8-meter-tall Buddha statue is a huge Buddha statue, measuring 3 meters high and 12 meters long, and it is made by carving juniper trees imported from Indonesia. There are a huge Buddha statue in the compound, Jangyuk-o-jon Buddha, which was made for 10 years with 100,000 brass stones, the bell of unification weighing 12 tons (888 tons at the Seoul Olympics), Korea's largest bronze Mirkbangasayus statue, and stone Yaksa Buddha. One place to visit in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do - Yongin 8, where the snow scene was beautiful, Wowjeongsa Temple.
