EP53 2024 December 와우정사(4k) - Quiet Buddhist temple - Daily quiet life in korea - calm healing Waujeongsa Temple Located at a place where 48 peaks of Yeonhwasan Mountain in Haegok-dong, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do are surrounded like folding screens, Waujeongsa Temple is a temple for national reconciliation built in 1970 by the displaced people, Haewol Samjangbeop (also known as Kim Hae-geun), and is the headquarters of the Nirvana sect of Korean Buddhism, which houses more than 3,000 Buddha statues. Among the various Buddha statues, the Buddha statue built at the entrance of the temple and the Wabul on the hillside are famous. The 8-meter-tall Buddha statue is a huge Buddha statue, measuring 3 meters high and 12 meters long, and it is made by carving juniper trees imported from Indonesia. There are a huge Buddha statue in the compound, Jangyuk-o-jon Buddha, which was made for 10 years with 100,000 brass stones, the bell of unification weighing 12 tons (888 tons at the Seoul Olympics), Korea's largest bronze Mirkbangasayus statue, and stone Yaksa Buddha. The world's largest and only Buddha statue is the pride of Waujeongsa Temple. The main body of this Buddha statue is made up of white jade and the pedestal is made up of blue jade. The stone pagoda of Unification next to the stairs leading to the nirvana is being piled up with a stone taken from holy sites around the world. More than 3,000 Buddha statues from India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, China, and Thailand are on display at Waujeongsa Temple, giving you a glimpse of Buddhist culture from all over the world. This world-wide Buddhist exhibition is meant to pray for world peace. Waujeongsa Temple enshrine all of the three treasures. Located in Yeonhwasan Mountain in Haegok-dong, Yongin-si, Wowjeongsa Temple and the lying Buddha are also famous, but a large Buddha statue stands out first. A stone tower is erected at the entrance of the temple, and an 8-meter-long Buddha is standing tall on top of it, so you can see it. In 1970, the temple built by Samjangsa Temple in Haewol, a displaced person, in hopes of reunification is called Waujeongsa Temple in Yongin. Looking around Wowjeongsa Temple, which was more beautiful due to the snow, I found that it looked different from ordinary temples. Should I say it's kind of exotic? There are many foreigners (southeast Asians) who came for sightseeing, and the tower style is quite unique. There is a rooftop in front of the mural where King Haedongseong is offering Yeouido to the Buddha. It is a rare stone Buddha statue in Korean temples. Buddha statues from India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, China, and Thailand, which are world-renowned Buddhist countries, are on display. For religious Buddhists, it would be a good idea to look back. The tranquil temple with snow is quite beautiful in harmony with the blue winter sky. People who came with their families were also foreigners when I went close. The sunlight of the unification paper, which was erected in anticipation of the unification of the two Koreas, shines. The Buddha statue in the picture below is donated by the Thai imperial family and is called the Buddha Sakyamuni Gilt-bronze Buddha of Southern Buddhism. There are many things to see because you can see Buddhist culture around the world. After passing Daeungjeon Hall and going up the middle of the mountain, I was finally able to meet the lying Buddha at Waujeongsa Temple in Yongin. Wow Buddha is called Buddha Sakyamuni, who is lying in a sculpture with juniper trees imported directly from Indonesia. It is 12M long and is said to be the world's largest wooden Buddha statue recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.
