In this video, I give a detailed explanation about how to do a long fast sidespin serve.
This is my favourite serve - and the one which wins me the most amount of points in local league table tennis. It's a great serve for forcing mistakes, and setting up third ball attacks.
The serve has two variations - sidespin with backspin and sidespin with topspin. In the video I show the technique for both variations and also discuss the speed of the serve and the length of the serve. I also talk about tactics - where to place the serve and how to use the serve effectively in matches.
There is loads of footage of me using this serve against other players, so you should get a good idea of how the serve can be used.
