Error Detection and Correction 2: Cyclic Redundancy Check

The Cyclic Redundancy Check is another form of error detection that involves use of modulo 2 arithmetic to compute a Frame Check Sequence that is added on to the end of a transmitted frame in order to verify correct transmission.
