Etiquette Phrases in Levantine Arabic | Bless You in Arabic | Levantine Arabic for Beginners Today we’re going to dive into culture and etiquette in the Levant area and learn common phrases that accompany them. Common phrases or things said in specific situations are often referred to as social expressions. Today we’ll explore 5 different areas: coughing/sneezing, guests and hosts, travel, holidays, and celebrations. You’ll notice that Arabs love to use flowery and poetic language. In terms of hosts and guests, we'll learn how a host welcomes their guests and how guests praise the hosts efforts. We'll learn what they say when the arrive and leave. For traveling we'll learn how to wish someone safe travels, ask if anyone wants something, and greet someone when they arrive from a trip. For Holidays we'll learn how to say Happy Birthday, Happy New Year, Eid Mubarak, and how to say "Happy Holiday" in general. For celebrations, we'll learn how to congratulate someone and what to say in reply. This is ideal for Arabic language learners and those interested in learning the Levantine dialect which is spoken in the Levant region in countries like Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria. The dialect being taught on this channel specifically emerged from southern Lebanon in Palestinian refugee camps.
