TN-C-S is used for the electricity supply to the majority of UK electrical installations. Adding an EV charger creates a potential safety issue if an open PEN conductor fault occurs within the electricity distribution network. To protect against this scenario Matt:e have designed a series of connection units that dis-connect the power supply to EV if a PEN. In this video, we explore a typical single-phase installation and how it meets the EV installation requirements outlined in BS7671. == AD ========================== More information Matt:e Single Phase EV charger connection units http://hub.efixx.co.uk/matt-e-single-ph ================================ 🕐 TIME STAMPS 🕕 00:00 Pen fault protection 00:12 Matt:E 00:25 EV points 00:50 Supply cable 01:23 What do the regulations say 01:38 TN-C-S 01:54 Indent 4 02:49 Voltage range +10% - 6% 03:18 PCD board 03:41 CPC wired through the contactor 04:04 What do the regulations say 04:32 IMO contactor 05:16 Onload isolator 05:33 Very small eo EV charger 06:48 What do the regulations say about the RCD 07:35 Type A RCD 07:55 RCDD is built into the eo EV Charger 08:38 Outgoing circuit connections 09:45 CT split current transformer 10:28 Resetting the RCD ================================ 📍SUBSCRIBE TO THE CHANNEL eFIXX helps electricians, electrical contractors, building services engineers, and electrical apprentices.
