Everything Worked Out: The Performance I Dreamed Of

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Despite the issues I had with my sequencer, this last performance went incredibly well. I finally managed to realize an idea I had five years ago about the kind of rhythms I want to create, the energy I want to bring to the stage, and how I want to make people have fun. At 140 BPM, with broken rhythms and a powerful mix, everything worked perfectly. The crowd under the stage was amazing—it was incredible to look up and see everyone dancing and enjoying themselves with me. From a technical perspective, I had a minor issue with the recording: occasional dropouts on one channel caused by a loose cable connected to my Disting. I apologize if one of the channels drops out occasionally; that’s the reason. I’ll address this for future performances, but I’m already happy to have captured the recording in high-quality (88.2kHz, 24-bit). There were four other artists from our collective, Bologna Modulare, and it was such a great evening. This was our second time playing at Labàs in Bologna, my hometown. It took me about 20 minutes to really settle in with the sounds and understand how the mix reacted in the space. But once I adjusted the master reverb and the bass filter, everything clicked. There was an incredible sense of volume and power under the stage. The sound was aggressive and exactly what I wanted. In the mix you’re hearing, I left a bit of the room ambiance to give you a sense of the atmosphere. Overall, I’m really proud of the compression and the sound pressure that the system generated. Towards the last quarter of the performance, the energy is palpable, and it felt amazing to play. So cool to make it all work with just my case alone. It’s truly wonderful to close the year with such a satisfying and refined performance. This won’t be my last video of the year, but I wanted to take this chance to thank all of you for following me, watching my videos, and for every comment and like you’ve shared. Your support makes a huge difference and motivates me to keep recording and sharing these experiences with you.
